The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended 98 suspects involved in crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and drug trafficking. The arrests were made between September 17 and September 24, 2024.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olanrewaju, during a press briefing on Wednesday, September 25, at the Command’s headquarters in Ikeja.
CP Olanrewaju expressed a “sense of professional fulfillment” since assuming leadership of the Command, crediting the swift arrests to intensified police operations and intelligence gathering.
He highlighted the Command’s commitment to ensuring public safety and combatting crime across the state. The Commissioner emphasized that the suspects were apprehended in various parts of Lagos following coordinated efforts by police units.
The arrests come as part of the Lagos State Police Command’s broader crackdown on criminal activities in the state. CP Olanrewaju reassured Lagos residents that the police would continue to strengthen its security measures and bring criminals to justice.
The Commissioner further urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information that could lead to the arrest of criminals.
He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to maintaining law and order across the state. The suspects are expected to be charged in court following the conclusion of investigations.
