The Lagos State Government has announced an 8-week traffic diversion plan on Eko Bridge, effective from Monday, 16th September 2024, to allow for emergency repairs by the Federal Ministry of Works.
The project will be executed in four phases, resulting in intermittent full or partial closures of the bridge.
To minimize disruption, motorists are advised to use alternative routes, including Alaka, Costain, Apongbon, and the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will deploy officers to manage traffic flow and reduce delays during the repair period.
The government has urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with traffic officials to ensure a smooth transition while repairs are underway. The Eko Bridge repairs aim to enhance safety and improve road infrastructure in the state.
