Mohammed Sanusi Urges Government Support for Lasting Solution to Fulani Crises

In a meeting held at his palace on Tuesday, Mohammed Sanusi, while receiving the leadership of the Fulani group Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, led by Modibbo Jada, called on the Federal Government to provide full support for a permanent solution to the ongoing Fulani crises in Nigeria.

Sanusi emphasized the need for government collaboration, stating that the Federal Government possesses the necessary power and resources to implement strategies that could address the complex issues facing the Fulani community.

Sanusi highlighted the plight of the Fulani people, who have endured severe attacks, isolation, killings, and the theft of their livestock across the country. He acknowledged that negative perceptions of the Fulani community have been widespread, resulting in their marginalization.

While recognizing that there are some “bad eggs” within the Fulani community who have contributed to its poor reputation, Sanusi argued that this should not overshadow the community’s broader struggles and the need for constructive solutions.

Sanusi urged the Federal Government to collaborate with Fulani leaders to find a sustainable resolution to the crises, particularly those involving conflicts between Fulani herders and farmers.

He expressed his commitment to working closely with the government, offering his ideas and methodologies to achieve peace and prosperity for both the Fulani people and the wider Nigerian population.

He stressed that with joint efforts, it is possible to put an end to the suffering and discord affecting the Fulani.

Modibbo Jada, leader of Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, expressed the group’s support for Sanusi’s leadership, reaffirming their loyalty and extending their hands of allegiance.

He noted that Sanusi’s leadership was reaffirmed by the Lamido of Adamawa, and highlighted the group’s extensive reach, with members across all 36 states of Nigeria, many of whom reside in rural areas. Jada emphasized that if only the youth wing were present, the palace would be too small to accommodate them, underscoring the group’s vast following.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to pursuing a permanent and peaceful resolution to the Fulani crises, with Sanusi and the Fulani group pledging to work alongside the Federal Government to achieve the desired peace and stability for the Fulani people and the entire nation.
