After several weeks of deliberation, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) have finalized the merit list for the recruitment of new Police Constables.
The agreement marks a significant step in ensuring that the recruitment process is transparent, fair, and based on merit.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing that the successful agreement between the NPF and PSC demonstrates a strong commitment to improving the police force and serving the nation effectively.
He highlighted the belief that the new recruits will play a crucial role in the Federal Government’s goals of providing employment opportunities for youth, enhancing internal security, and maintaining law and order.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the training for the newly recruited officers is scheduled to begin on August 10, 2024.
The training will be comprehensive, focusing on equipping the recruits with essential skills and knowledge for effective policing.
The program will cover modern policing ethics, community policing strategies, information and communication technology (ICT), artificial intelligence, human relations, and behavioral change.
The IGP also extended gratitude to all stakeholders and the public for their patience and support throughout the recruitment process.
The new training initiative aims to prepare the recruits thoroughly, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute positively to the Nigeria Police Force’s mission and uphold its core values.
