President Tinubu Appeals to Nigerians to Delay Hunger Protest, Urges Patience for Government Response

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu appealed to Nigerians planning a nationwide hunger protest to reconsider their plans and allow his administration more time to address their concerns.

The appeal was made public by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following a closed-door meeting with the President at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.

President Tinubu expressed his view that there was no need for the protest, urging citizens to be patient and wait for the government’s response to their demands.

He reassured that his administration is committed to addressing the issues raised by the public and emphasized the importance of giving the government time to implement solutions.

Idris relayed the President’s message, highlighting Tinubu’s request for the planned strike to be shelved. The Minister encouraged young Nigerians and others involved in the protest movement to heed the President’s call and allow time for the administration to deliver on its promises and initiatives aimed at improving conditions in the country.

The President’s appeal reflects an effort to de-escalate tensions and manage public dissatisfaction while reinforcing his commitment to addressing the needs and expectations of the citizens.
