Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), a prominent humanitarian organization, has sounded the alarm over a dramatic increase in malnutrition cases in Bauchi State, Nigeria.
In the first quarter of 2024 alone, 17,223 children were admitted for malnutrition. This surge is part of a broader trend across Nigeria, where MSF reports a 40% average increase in malnutrition admissions compared to the same period in the previous year.
The organization has expressed urgent concern about the escalating crisis and is calling for immediate support and intervention to address the growing malnutrition crisis and mitigate its impact on vulnerable populations.
