Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Konga, tragically committed suicide on June 25th by jumping from his apartment in Lekki. Prior to taking his life, Nick made a call to his brother in the United States, giving him detailed instructions on how to distribute his wealth in the event of his death. He also had an emotional conversation with his young daughter from a previous relationship, reassuring her that he would always be there for her and that she could look to the sky to find him.
Nick’s death has left his friends, family, and colleagues in deep shock and confusion, as they struggle to understand why he took such a drastic step. Originally from the Ika South local government area of Delta State, Nick had previously been married to the mother of his daughter, who also hailed from the same area. Their marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.
Nick later remarried, this time to a Caucasian woman, and it appeared that he had found happiness in his new relationship. His unexpected suicide has therefore been even more shocking to those who knew him. Before his tenure at Konga, Nick held significant positions, including Regional Director at TCL/Alcatel and General Manager/Managing Director for West and Central Africa at Microsoft Device and Services.
The news of Nick’s death has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones, who are now left to grapple with the painful questions and the legacy of a man who seemed to have it all, yet chose to end his life.
