Trump Campaign Raises $53 Million Post-Conviction in Hush Money Trial

Donald Trump’s campaign announced on Friday that it had raised nearly $53 million in online small-dollar donations following his conviction in the New York hush money trial.

The campaign claimed that the verdict had significantly boosted support, resulting in an unprecedented fundraising haul equivalent to over $2 million per hour.

Senior campaign aides Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles reported that more than a third of the total contributions came from new donors.

They highlighted the “outpouring of support from patriots across our country” and referred to the Thursday court decision as a “sham trial verdict.”

The advisors mentioned that the campaign’s digital fundraising system experienced temporary delays due to the high volume of small-dollar donors.

By Friday evening, the total amount raised had reached $52.8 million. The conviction included 34 charges of falsifying business records to cover up a sex scandal during the final stages of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Prosecutors alleged that Trump had an affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2006 and later paid hush money to avoid public fallout, subsequently creating false documentation to conceal the payment.

Trump is scheduled for sentencing on July 11 but is expected to appeal the verdict
