Troops of the Nigerian Army engaged in Counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State successfully ambushed terrorists believed to be en route to perpetrate violence in the region.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the troops conducted the operation in the Birnin Gwari axis of the state on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
The ambush, strategically positioned around Kwaga Village, targeted the terrorists notorious for instigating chaos within the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. During the operation, one terrorist was neutralized, forcing the others to scatter in disarray and flee the scene.
The swift response of the troops not only thwarted a potential attack on innocent civilians in the area but also resulted in the recovery of significant weaponry. Among the items retrieved were 2 AK 47 Rifles with magazines and 2 motorbikes.
Currently, the troops remain in hot pursuit of the fleeing terrorists, demonstrating the Nigerian Army’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region.
