Maryanne Moghalu, wife of Kingsley Moghalu, a former presidential candidate for the Young Progressive Party, issues a stern warning to investors in Lagos State amidst growing concerns about business security.
Her caution arises following the recent demolition at Landmark Beach, a part of the Mami Chula Beach Lifestyle, to facilitate the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
The demolition was initiated following an inspection conducted by the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, at the 13th, 16th, and 20th kilometres. The aim of the inspection was to determine the most cost-effective and feasible route for the coastal roads while minimizing damage. Umahi emphasized that the demolition would impact numerous structures and mentioned provisions for compensation.
In light of these developments, Moghalu issued her warning on Tuesday, highlighting the inherent risks associated with investing in Lagos.
Amidst these events, Arise News Correspondent Laila Johnson-Salami seeks clarification on whether the project has received final approval from the Federal Ministry of Environment or if any exemptions have been granted.
