The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has published the results of the council elections conducted on Saturday, April 27.
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state won all 33 local government chairmanships.
OYSIEC chairman Aare Isiaka Olagunju (SAN), the state’s Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, and other security agencies praised the election’s conduct, characterizing it as free, fair, credible, and violence-free.
However, the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the council election a fraud, claiming that if candidates are permitted to run, it would bring the state into dishonor.
