The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has decided to withdraw its application to the Court of Appeal against Yahaya Bello, the embattled former Governor of Kogi State.
The EFCC said that the notice of withdrawal is based on the fact that the application filed has been superseded by a ruling of the Kogi State High Court.
This was stated in a court suit filed on Tuesday before the Court of Appeal Abuja judicial division by J. S. Okutepa, SAN, and others on behalf of the Commission.
According to the commission, Justice Jamil J., a Kogi High Court Judge, resolved the subject of the appeal on April 17, 2024.
As a result, the EFCC informed the court that the notice of appeal was submitted beyond the deadline and now requests that the appeal be dismissed for being filed late and incompetent.
