Lagos State Government to Extend Blue Rail Line Project to Ogun State

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration may extend Blue Line Phase 2 construction to Agbara, Ogun State.

Yesterday, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (LAMATA) Director of Rail Transport Olasukanmi Okusaga said the Lagos and Ogun governments are discussing extending the Blue Rail Line to Agbara.

Okusaga expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved during an inspection trip of the second phase of the Blue Line construction and reported continuing negotiations with the Ogun government about extended it to Agbara.

He said: “The project, which was awarded in 2023, is expected to be completed in three years.

“It will include six stations in Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU and Okokomaiko, along with three bridges in Maza Maza, Satellite town and LASU. This phase covers 14 kilometres.”
