Lagos advises citizens to cease putting of rubbish in drainage systems.
The Lagos State Government has encouraged citizens to stop pouring rubbish down drains and take responsibility for public infrastructure.
Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, claimed that the government is preparing for the rainy season.
He revealed this in a video posted on his X account on Wednesday, April 17.
It reads: “The state government #followlasg is prepared for the rainy season.
“We are taking a lot of measures to reduce the usual flooding in the state.
“We therefore plead with Lagosians to desist from throwing wastes in the drainages and take ownership of the public infrastructures.
“Collectively, let us ensure a cleaner, safer and greener Lagos.”
