Assailants Murder Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretary in Zamfara

The secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Musa Ille, was fatally shot at his residence on Monday, April 15, in an attack by terrorists.

This tragic incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. when assailants raided his home, killing him in front of his residence.

This event follows closely after terrorists targeted and killed another prominent PDP figure in Zamfara state, Alhaji Shafiu Abubakar, along with two others near Danbaza junction and Maradun town, the headquarters of Maradun local government area.

The attackers had been ambushing motorists along a 10-kilometer stretch of road leading to Maradun town, using large stones to block the path and then opening fire on trapped vehicles, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

Alhaji Shafiu Abubakar was murdered while pursuing his ambition to contest the chairmanship seat of Maradun local government area council in the upcoming local government elections.

Despite the presence of military and mobile police units in the area, concerns persist over escalating violence.

Residents are demanding urgent and decisive action against the bandits responsible for these attacks, particularly since Maradun is the hometown of the current Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.

However, as of now, the Zamfara state Police Command has not released any official information regarding the circumstances surrounding the assassination of Alhaji Musa Ille.

The community remains tense, grappling with the loss of a dedicated party official amidst ongoing security challenges in the region.
