The primary market that serves Yola Town, which is one of the two major marketplaces in the capital of Adamawa State, was completely destroyed by a fire that was very destructive.
Yola Town Main Market, being the second important market in the city, operates as the commercial hub for Yola South Local Government neighborhood and the surrounding region, while the biggest market, Jimeta Modern Market, is located in the Jimeta neighborhood of the capital.

It was stated by witnesses that the fire at Yola Town Market started in the early hours of Monday morning, and it quickly spread throughout the stores and items.
Traders who had left their proceeds from Sunday sales at the market expressed remorse for not taking their money home before the event.
Despite a rapid reaction from firefighting officials, suppressing the fire was tough owing to its severity.
As of Monday morning, the source of the fire remained unknown, with residents ruling out any electrical link as the region was suffering a blackout.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of human fatalities due from the incident.
The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, visited the market to offer sorrow to the affected merchants shortly before 10 am on Monday, assuring them of the government’s assistance at this trying time.
