After Over Six Months In Captivity, Abducted Zamfara Varsity Students, Corps Members Rescued

The remaining faculty and students of the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State, who were abducted on September 22, 2023, have regained freedom.

Bandits have raided dormitories in Sabon-Gida village in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara, abducting around 20 students, primarily girls.

After many attempts by the university officials and family members, several of the victims were freed after months, while 23 remained in captivity.

However, sources informed this publication that the remaining students were rescued by security personnel on Sunday.

This publication witnessed images of some of the hostages being transferred by bus.

The source stated that several members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were abducted in Sokoto State have also been recovered.
