Kwara acquiries over 20,000 hectares of land for smart city project

The Kwara State Government has acquired 20,065 hectares of land for the establishment of the New Ilorin Smart City Estate.

This was contained in a statement by the Press Secretary, Abdulrazaq Yusuf, on Wednesday, April 10.

Part of the statement reads: “Following stakeholders engagement meeting on land acquisition, the Kwara State Government has acquire land in both Ilorin East and Ilorin South Local Government Areas of Kwara State, for the purpose of citing the New Ilorin SmartCity Estate, in the best interest of kwarans and the entire Nation.

“The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS), ESV Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman stated this of recent, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Zulu Gambari (CON), in his palace, in Ilorin, the State Capital.

“The Chairman, commended the royal father for his fatherly roles at piloting the affairs of the Ilorin metropolis and environs, adding that motives behind the visit was to intimate the Royal Father of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s quest for the acquisition of about 20,065 hectares of land, in both Ilorin East and South Local Government Areas, respectively, for the establishment of the New Ilorin SmartCity Estate.”
