After 17 years of waiting, Kogi monarch’s wife gives birth to triplets

Residents of Apata in Oworo District, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State were filled with overwhelming joy and excitement on Monday as they celebrated the arrival of triplets born to the wife of the traditional ruler after a long 17-year wait filled with anticipation and hope.

Olori Teniola-Faith delivered the babies at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja on Monday.

The Olu of Apata’s Palace, Oba Fredrick Balogun, who is now a proud father of triplets, was filled with joy as the community joined in singing and dancing to celebrate the occasion.

Speaking to NAN, the joyful Oba expressed thanks to God for the faithfulness shown to his family during the 17-year wait.

He mentioned, “This day is filled with happiness as we receive these precious gifts from God Almighty after many years of hoping and relying on Him.”

“I am truly at a loss for words to convey my gratitude for what God has given to our royal family. The gathering here reflects the joy and celebration of this moment.”

Oba Balogun saw the birth of the triplets as a positive omen for 2024, signaling a year of blessings not just for Apata, but also for Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.

He also valued the support he received from his family, friends, the Apata community, and the hospital staff during this time.

Chief Ayodele Rufus-Balogun, the Elsho of Apata, described the birth of the triplets as a tremendous blessing for the community and the entire Kogi State.

“The happiness among our people on the arrival of these triplets for our Oba is truly heartwarming. We are thankful to God,” he shared.

Moreover, Mr. Babatunde Adekunle, the Secretary of the Apata Community Development Association, declared 2024 as a year of prosperity for the community.

He stated, “Our hearts are filled with joy as we gather here to sing and dance, blessed by God’s gift bestowed upon our royal family.”
