FG grants N12.7 billion for prepaid meters in army barracks nationwide.

The Federal Government has released N12.7 billion to provide meters in Army barracks nationwide, according to Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu.

On Monday, March 18, 2024, Bolaji Tunji, his special assistant on strategic communication and media relations, claimed Adelabu said the money is from the N40 billion mass metering scheme.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria that the present exercise will last six weeks before the second phase.

Mass metered army formations worldwide will allow us to track monthly use for accurate invoicing and easier collections.

The goal is to eliminate estimated billing.

He said one of Mr. President’s goals in the renewed hope agenda is to prioritize energy delivery to the military forces so they don’t suffer, especially in public utility use.
